Through effective skill enhancement, you become more capable, competent and confident in yourself and are better able to reach your goals.

The department looks into communication techniques to equip students with the skills required in becoming good and influential communicators.

Campus Placement Activities.

The main objective of the Institution is to develop ethical and innovative leaders in this dynamic and global competitive environment by implementing the theory and practices of what the students have learnt in their curriculum so that they would be able to play leadership roles and contribute to the growth and development of organisations.

The placement office keeps effective contacts with the firms/companies all over Bengaluru & India as well and is always able to get students a myriad sector of companies for placement opportunities.

The students have to satisfy the following criteria to become eligible for placement/internship:

  1. Secure an average of 60% marks
  2. Has to obtain 60% marks in Communication & presentation
  3. The student should have attended 80% of the classes.
Industry engagement with seminar and webinars from various experts.

Today, the market is very demanding and we often encounter problems where the level of higher education does not meet industry expectations. To bridge this gap and equip students with new-age technologies, seminars and workshops play a vital role. Ensuring an appropriate flow of knowledge seminars and workshops foster enthusiastic interaction and active participation, thereby enhancing students' skills and expertise. The importance of seminars and workshops to students is cited as a top priority. Today, seminars are encouraged to recognize the importance of being industry ready for the students.

We at BMS College of Commerce and Management believe to train our students beyond the regular coursework and definitely work in-line with the New Education Policy wherein, we want students to be equipped with skills that will differentiate them from their peers. These skills are delivered by internationally certified trainers, industry experts, professionals, entrepreneurs and high academic achievers. The students undergo the skill enhancement courses mandatorily in every semester and each course is critically evaluated and discussed with Industry experts before students are trained on these skill enhancement courses.

The courses offered are multidisciplinary in nature and the students are given absolute freedom to choose the course that interests them. Below is a gist of courses offered.

Executive Communication

Today the world runs on communication. We understand our students are already good at it and with a little structure being bought in they will be able to better themselves. This course will help them become successful entrepreneurs, leaders and individuals. The course will concentrate on debates, public speaking, corporate communication, delivery of speeches and on team building activities.

Global Economic Scenario

Understanding economics is important to a common man because the world runs on money. In this course the students will learn about the details, differentiation and the importance of microeconomics and macroeconomics. By the end of this course students will be able to do a project that will reflect the learning.

Advanced Excel

Advanced Excel course training is designed for aspiring to become successful Data Analysts or aspiring to start their careers in the field of Analytics. Advanced Excel Courses aid students in becoming world-class financial analysts in firms such as private equity, investment banking, equity research, corporate development, and Financial Planning and Analysis sectors. Digital Marketing

In this course there will be an introduction to Marketing the difference between traditional and digital marketing, SEO , forms of SEO , case study , benefits of digital marketing , website and its types, CMS, hosting , search engines – Keywords and research , meta tags , google ad words , campaigns ,structure and social media platforms.

Business Data Analytics

Data science encompasses preparing data for analysis, including cleansing, aggregating, and manipulating the data to perform advanced data analysis. Analytic applications and data scientists can then review the results to uncover patterns and enable business leaders to draw informed insights. In this course you will learn about pandas, data frames, indexing of data frames, conditional subsetting, inserting columns in data frames , accessing columns and rows using index in dataframe, shallow copy and deep copy and about joins. The course emphasises on R and Python and their role in statistics.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Tally Prime is a complete business management software for small and medium business. Tally Prime helps you manage accounting, inventory, banking, taxation, banking, payroll and much more to get rid of complexities, and in turn, focus on business growth. In this course there will be - Basics of Accounting, Tally, History, Introduction of Tally Prime, Creation of a Company, function keys shortcut, creation of company, creation alteration and deleting of ledger accounts, andcontra voucher. Brief on Types of Vouchers- Creation of Cost Categories and Cost Centres and Payment voucher Types of bills (new reference bill, against reference bill, advance bill, and receipt voucher. Concepts on Groups and Ledgers Journal Vouchers with practical exercises, Creation of Location and Godowns. Creation of Units of Measure,Simple Units and Compound Units, Stock Category, Stock Groups, Stock Units, Introduction to GST, GSTIN, HSN Code, Intrastate and interstate supplies applied for tax, Purchase Voucher and Sales Voucher Creation of purchase voucher, sales voucher, debit note and credit note.

SAP FICO

SAP FICO Course is a certification degree Course that deals with the Finance and Cost controlling module in SAP ERP where FI represents Financial Accounting and CO represents Controlling. SAP FICO module is hearty and covers practically all business cycles experienced in different industries. The most practical way of getting in SAP or more specifically, learning SAP FICO which gives you the key to ruling the SAP Functional Modules. It aims to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and protect against the unauthorised exploitation of systems, networks and technologies. It deals with Cyber Threats like, Malware, spyware, ransomware, viruses and worms, Emotet., Denial of Service, Phishing, SQL Injection and Password Attacks.

The CSP makes these resources available for a monthly subscription fee or bills them according to usage. Compared to traditional on-premises IT, and depending on the cloud services you select, cloud computing helps Lower IT costs, Improve agility and time-to-value, Scale more easily and cost-effectively and provides elasticity.


Conducting Faculty Development Program (FDP)

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) intends to provide assistance to facilitate up-gradation of knowledge, skill and intends to provide opportunities for induction training to teachers employed in various disciplines.

The programme aims to improve the academic and intellectual environment of the Institution by providing sufficient opportunities for faculty to conduct research and attend seminars/conferences/workshops. Participation in such programmes will enable faculty members to update their research and teaching skills. Every year the faculties undergo FDP programs which would be both inbound and outbound which will enable them to adapt to newer teaching skills and also on how to keep themselves up-skilled on the nuances of teaching. The FDP Programs which be conducted by experts in the field of teaching who enable to the faculties to harness their expertise.

Industry Visits

Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum and objectives of industrial visit is to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies. The institution believes that theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.

With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work. Students need to get a practical outlook to how organisations work and the way processes are conducted in varied organisations as it enhances the knowledge and learning ability of the students wherein these trips are a great source to gain practical knowledge and students can observe and learn how theoretical concepts are put into action thereby aiding to practical learning.

The Students at BMSCCM visited varied organisations to see how they function & understand the practical aspect of corporate life. The students enjoy the trip as they visit & interact with different companies and organisations. Some of the industries students visited by students are ABB India, Armor Plast Ltd, Air Cargo & Toyota Motors.
