BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (B.COM.)



Bachelor of Commerce is an innovative program designed to equip the students with adequate basic knowledge in Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, Taxation, Auditing, Retailing etc. The program will enable the students to catapult their future as wealth creators and managers in the corporate sector. The course focuses on creating professionals who are virtuous in their professional conduct. It also encourages the students to explore the world of technology and digitization in the relevant field as anticipated by the scholars and policymakers. This program will instil conceptual and practical understanding to equip students to manage businesses, organisations and prepares them to drive and face the challenges of tomorrow.

B.COM @ BMSCCM

The B.COM program offered at BMSCCM aims at holistic development of the students, so that they make effective contribution to society. The excellent academic environment along with co-curricular and sports activities empowers the students to thrive in a fast-paced and exciting learning environment. Classroom lectures, projects, presentation and case studies form the core components of teaching methodology. In addition to this the students pursue industry ready career enhancement courses/add-on courses like Executive Communication, Tally ERP, Advance Excel, Business Data Analytics, SAP etc.

Scope of B. Com:

There is good scope for aspirants who complete their Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, both in terms of higher education as well as job opportunities. Education in the concerned field is an excellent base for a variety of careers. Graduates can launch their career in the local, National and International world of business in a vide range of industries such as Financial and Insurance Services, Energy and resources, Information Management, Marketing, Communication etc.

Specializations Offered:

Students have to select electives out of the list of electives given in Fifth and Sixth Semester. Electives selected in the fifth semester should be continued in the sixth semester. However, they can change the electives in the seventh semester. The electives selected in the seventh semester will continue in the eighth semester

Internship:

Every student enrolled for this program will have to take up Internship in the V and VI semester during the course.

Evaluation Process:

Total marks for each course shall be based on continuous assessments and semester end examinations. As per the decision taken at the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, it is necessary to have uniform pattern of 40 : 60 for IA and Semester End theory examinations respectively

Certification offered:

As per the National Education Policy 2020 the multidisciplinary courses have multiple exit options every year. The certification offered during that time are as follows:

  1. On Successful Completion of one year/two semesters (48 Credits): Exit Option with Certificate in Commerce.
  2. On Successful Completion of two years/Four semesters (96 Credits): Exit Option with Diploma in Commerce
  3. On Successful Completion of three years/ Six semesters (144 Credits): Exit Option with Bachelor Degree in Commerce
  4. On Successful Completion of four years/Eight semesters (180 Credits): Award of Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Honours B.COM(Hon).
